Friday: 1 Samuel 8:1-5
This passage was about Israel wanting a king. Samuel's sons didn't follow his ways so they asked for different kings. His sons were dishonest. I am sometimes tempted to be greedy and unfair. It is just human nature. I don't like being like that. I can try to remind myself not to do it every time I get tempted. It will be hard.

Thursday: 1 Samuel 3:1-21
In this passage it talked about Samuel. Samuel was spoken to by the Lord. The Lord told Samuel that he would punish Eli for the sins of his family. He told him alot of other things to. When I read the Bible, I expect God to tell me what it means. Most of the time it is silent. He lets me figure out what it means. It sometimes takes me forever. I expect him to talk to me more. He just makes me figure it out.

Wednesday: 1 Samuel 1:1-28
In this passage Hannah asked for a son. God granted her request. As she promised she gave her son to the Lord. He let her give birth. She gave up her son to live in the temple. I have promised to pray every night before I go to sleep. I have kept that. I have promised to remember the true meaning of Christmas. I have promised to give thanks to him on Christmas day. I have promised to always love God. I have promised to pray very often. I pray whenever I get scared. No one can talk to me. Most of the time they can't understand what I'm saying. I have kept all these promises because God is great and I love him!

Teusday: Ruth 4:1-22
In this passage it talked about Ruth's marriage. The people who were able to marry her and buy Naomi's land gathered together. Boaz married her. Ruth gave Boaz a son. Boaz and Ruth's son was named Obed. Obed was the father of Jesse who was the father of King David. A future reason for obeying God is going to Heaven or hell. It will effect your entire eternity. So you need to obey him. Another future reason is the effect of the rest of your life. You want to have a great life. It might seem like you have a good life, but you might be going to hell. That is not the life you want. I know that I want to go to Heaven. Those are some reasons for obeying God.

Week 7: Monday: Ruth 3:1-18
In this story it says all that Ruth does to get a husband. Boaz is so kind to her. He lets her go into places where woman are not allowed. He agreed to marry her. God helped Ruth find a really good husband. God has not used many surprising methods in my life yet. He has helped me though. I guess one surprising method he has used in my life is leading me. He led me one day to give my dog to my grandma who lives in Baker. Of course I got my dog back, but I ended up going to Bethany for church. Bethany is way better than my recent Baptist church. So that is one surprising method he has used. He used my poodle.

Friday: Ruth 2:1-23
In this passage God helped Ruth by helping her find the land Boaz owns to work in.Boaz was a kind relative of her mother-in-law. he helped her. He would not let anyone lay a hand on her. He protected her. My reputation is an advantage because I don't get in trouble alot. At school I am known as the quiet girl by alot of people. My close friends know I am not shy or quiet. I don't get in trouble by the teachers because I don't act up or talk during class. I pay attention.

Thursday: Ruth 1:1-22
In this passage it talked about Ruth and Naomi. Ruth had a special relationship with her mother-in-law. Even when her husband died, she stayed with Naomi. It didn't affect their relationship. In difficulties I fight with my friends. It doesn't affect us much. We always make up. I get frustrated very easily. I try to not get frustrated, but I can't help it.

Wednesday:Judges 16:22-31
In this passage it talked about how Samson was brought out to perform. He killed a bunch of people. He died. I understand God's patience a little. I love God. I know that he has alot of patience. He made everyone. He made us to where we can make our own decisions. He hasn't killed us all yet which means He has a lot of patience.

Teusday:Judges 16:1-21
In this article Delilah wanted to find Samson's weakness so she would become rich. It was a very selfish thing to do. She let them kill her husband just so she would be rich. It was so rude, selfish, and WRONG! It was a horrible way to treat her husband. I am a trouble-maker at home. I behave myself at school. I am always in sticky situations. Especially when I am picking blackberries with my friends. We always get in trouble because we have food fights all the time. I do not do really bad things. I never mess with the cows behind my house or with my EVIL EVIL EVIL neighbors! I "flirt" with disaster alot.

Week 6: Monday:Judges 15: 1-20
This passage talks about how Samson wanted to see his wife. His father-in-law would not let him because his father-in-law thought that Samson hated his wife. His father-in-law gave his wife to his companion. Samson got so mad that he got 300 foxes and tied them together in pairs by their tails. He then put the tails on fire. He let the foxes loose and let them burn down the city of the Philistines. The Philistines wanted to kill them so they got Samson's men to tie Samson up. When Samson was brought to them the bonds broke. Samson looked in his hands and saw the jawbone of a donkey. There he killed a thousand men with that jawbone. He was then thirsty so he cried out to the Lord. The Lord then made a stream. When Samson drank he got stronger. He then lead Israel for 20 years during the rule of the Philistines. My mistakes don't correct themselves because they can't. I have to do something to correct my behavior or whatever my mistake was. One time I accidentally said yep instead of yes sir. My dad got mad and made me say again what I had just said. I have more examples, but that is one.

Friday:Judges 14:1-20
Samson didn't tell his parents about the riddle. His wife didn't want to let her people hurt her so she got the answer. Samson was so mad. He ended up giving his wife to one of his companions. I consider the wisdom of my parents very carefully. I love them. I know they would never do anything to hurt me. They are much wiser than me too. I am just a little girl.

Thursday:Judges 13: 1-25
God told a woman that she would have a baby. It would be a son. He would lead Israel out of the hands of the Philistines. She had this baby and named him Samson. I need more discipline in my life at home. I am just so lazy it is weird. I can't do anything, but fun things. I hate having to work. I need to learn to get off my lazy butt. I know I am lazy, and I know I need to change.
Wednesdaty: Judges 7:1-25
In this passage Gideon felt like he could not beat the Midianites. He went back to camp and heard what the people said. Somehow that encouraged him. he just needed to trust God though. In the area of my life where I keep trying to get my cousins saved is where I need to have God the most. It is hard and I just want to give up on them all the time. I have to ask God for help. It is very difficult. I love that God helps me because I would not be able to do it on my own.

Tuesday: Judges 6:1-40
In this passage God told Gideon that he would save Israel. Gideon kept asking for signs. The Israelites got mad at Gideon when he tore down the altar of Baal and replaced it with the altar of God. Gideon gave a sacrifice to the Lord and did as the Lord commanded. If someone tells me to do something I'll do it if it is right. If they tell me to jump of a bridge I will say "No! Did you hit your head or something?". I will do it if they say "go clean your room" or "go pray". I do whatever my mom or dad tells me to do. If I notice God talking to me, I try to do what he tells me to do. I always do the right things that people tell me to do.

Week 5: Monday: Judges 4:4-24
In this message it shows how the Israelites followed God's orders. He gave Sisera into the hands of Israel. A woman who Sisera trusted killed him. Then she showed the Israelites. I know if people don't try to kill me. I try to tell them I care about them if I really do. I joke around with them and make them feel welcome. I try to be nice even when they get on my nerves. I would show them I truly cared about them.

Friday:Joshua 24:1-31
This article was about Joshua gathered the tribes of Israel. Joshua was talking to them about what all God has done for them. He told them to love the Lord and to get rid of all the false gods. They decided that they would serve the Lord. After Joshua talked to them, he died at the age of one hundred and ten. I can get hope from history because I know the Lord will help me. He will come back one day. He will never leave me. He will always be there for me. Nothing will go wrong all the time.

Thursday:Joshua 23-1:16
This article was about Joshua giving commands. He tells them to do what is right. He says follow the Lord. I think the most inmportant rule he said was " do not invoke the names of their gods or swear by them. You must not serve them or bow down to them". It sort of is like the first commandment. It is really important. It basically says do not have any other gods other than the one and only God.

Wednesday:Joshua 10:1-15
God created the whole world. He stopped the day. he made it the longest day ever. He is the greatest God ever. I love him. He helped the Israelites so much. I love how he helped them. I find it fascinating how he made the day longer for a human being. I love how God will help the Israelites with everything. I know God is powerful because he created the whole world. He made the day longer. He did a lot of miracles. he does everything so amazingly.

Tuesday:Joshua 7:1-26
Achan faced horrible consequences for stealing from the Lord. He was stoned. It was horrible. Because of him his whole family was killed. He should have known better. I have faced good and bad consequences. I try not to do anything bad.Sometimes I don't do my homework soon enough and at seven when I finish I get yelled at. Sometimes when I help with something I get rewarded. I try to get more rewards and less punishment, but it is hard. It is human nature to sin. I keep trying to go against it. One day I won't sin as much. I don't sin a lot now, but I hope to make it where I never sin.

Monday:Joshua 5:13- 6:27
This was about Joshua and Jericho. It talked about how Joshua spared the lives of Rahab and all that belonged to her because she hid the spies. She showed compassion to the spies and wanted God's will to be done. She wanted to be used. It also talks about how God helped the Israelites tear down the walls of Jericho. They marched around it once for six days in silence. On the seventh day they marched around the city seven times and in the end gave a battle cry that tore down the city's wall. I really want God to use me. I don't know how he will use me, but I want him to use me. I am really serious about having God use me during my life. I do not want anything to get in the way of God using me.
